Anxiety: The specific state of being in which a person can feel a variety of intense feelings such as mind racing, nervousness, tension and unease. This precise state known as “anxiety” occurs because the subconscious, emotional part of a person’s mind is in a habit/practice of choosing to obsessively worry about themselves, their life, other people or the world around them in a specific way. This anxious mindset habit/practice is predominantly related to the future and imagined future experiences and is generally beyond their conscious control.

Depression: The specific state of being in which a person can feel a variety of intense feelings such as frustration, anger, resentment, injustice, sadness, low-mood, lethargy and ultimately depression. This precise state of “depression” occurs because the subconscious, emotional part of a person’s mind is in a habit/practice of choosing to obsessively focus on “historical negative life experiences” in a specific way. The depressive mindset habit/practice is predominantly related to the past and remembered past experiences and is generally beyond their conscious control.
It’s important to note that sometimes when a person is struggling with chronic anxiety, they can also experience feelings of frustration, hopelessness, sadness and low-mood because they are unable to perceive a resolution for their mental-emotional issue.
